Mango Kernel Olein

Liquid fraction · dry-fractionated from Mangifera indica

The liquid fraction of our upcycled mango kernel butter. Silky, pourable, and high-oleic — a light emollient with the faint summer aroma of the parent kernel. A practical carrier for hair mists, lip gloss, and body sprays that want something more interesting than mineral oil.

The fraction & the carrier

What this lipid actually is.

Mango olein is the lighter cousin of our mango stearin. Where the stearin holds body, the olein pours. It integrates into aqueous sprays and gel-oil hybrids without separation and tolerates fragrance and essential oil loading to 5 percent.

Oleic content sits at 50 to 60 percent. The lipid stays liquid at 22°C. It carries an 18-month shelf life in amber glass and a light, faintly fruity aroma that most formulators choose to leave as-is.

For private-label cosmetic manufacturers, mango olein is a strategic ingredient — inexpensive compared with argan or meadowfoam, upcycled, and credible in clean-beauty positioning.

The oil India burns, poured back into a bottle.

Formulation uses

Where it earns its keep.

Applications where this lipid is generally used, drawn from published formulation practice.

Hair mists and light oils

Lighter than argan. Pairs beautifully with kokum olein in premium formulas.

Lip gloss carriers

Clear, stable, faintly aromatic. Supports pigment load.

Body mists and sprays

Disperses cleanly in aqueous systems without surfactant.

Facial oils for oily skin

Non-occlusive; high oleic without high linoleic oxidation risk.

Upcycled clean-beauty claims

Certified upcycled; strong positioning for EU and US premium retail.

Co-emollient in creams

5 to 12 percent inclusion lightens heavy shea or kokum systems.

Substitution guidance

Replaces argan and meadowfoam at 1:1 in most light emollient systems. Not a direct cold-process soap ingredient. Pair with mango stearin when rebuilding body in anhydrous balms.

Provenance of these figures

Every specification on this page is a published typical value for the botanical species, compiled from supplier technical data sheets and the peer-reviewed literature. Real ranges shift with origin, season, kernel quality and refining route: treat these as indicative, and always specify against your supplier’s own CoA.
